Science

The Lugansk region has a powerful objective preconditions of generating the scientific knowledge and their realizations in the social production, formation of innovative strategy of long-term economic development.
In scientific and technical sphere 3,792 experts work, among them there are more than 200 doctors and 884 candidates of sciences.
Many scientific schools of Lugansk region received wide world popularity. Only in V. Dahl East Ukrainian University there are nearly 20 of them, in Lugansk  Agricultural University – more than 10, Lugansk T. Shevchenko University – 22, Donbass technical University - 6.
Scientific and technical works are carried out in more than 50 research and project organizations which represent the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Coal Mining Ministry, Industry Ministry, Machine Building Ministry and their various departments.
Quantity of the experts performing scientific and technical works makes 3,652 people. Volume of the scientific and technical work executed in 2007 makes 85,271 thousand hrn.
