Natural resources

• Relief, Soil, Climate
  The surface of the region is a hilly plain, which rises from the valley of Seversky Donets to the north and south, where Donetsk crest is situated.
• Water resources
  Rivers make the most part of water resources of the region. All rivers of the region are typically plain ones. The main river is Seversky Donets, and a great number of the region rivers belongs to its water-basin.
• Fauna
  The territory of Lugansk region lies in the east step zone of Ukraine. Fauna of the region can be characterised mainly by step and some forest animals, however, wild fauna is poor.
• Flora
  Lugansk region is situated in steppe zone. Plants under the influence of human activity changed greatly.
• Minerals
  Entrails of our region are full of high quality coal. Its quantity is more than ten milliard tons. There are about 330 stratums of coal but only 60 of them have the thickness of about 0,45-0,5 m
