Districts | Troitsky



Troitsky district is the large agricultural district which located in the northwest part of Lugansk region. As an administrative unit it is founded in 1926. In the north it borders with Veidelevsky and Valuisky districts of Belgorod region, in the south and the east - with Belokurakinsky and Svatovsky districts of Lugansk region. In the west - with Dvurechansky and Kupyansky districts of Kharkov region.

    Its territory is 1,600 sq. km.

The population is 25,6 thousand people, including agricultural population - 17,3 thousand people, from them engaged in agricultural production - 4 thousand people. In the demographic sphere 55,1 % of the population are men and 44,9% are women.

    Regional centre is settlement of city type Troitskoe. It is in the distance of 220 km. from Lugansk and 2 km. from railway station Lantratovka, on the rail-way line Valuiki - Starobel'sk.

    Motorways of public value Troitsk - Lugansk (through Svatovo) and Troitsk - Lugansk (through Belokurakino) cross the territory of the district, there is the automobile connection with Veidelevsky district.

    Settling of the territory began in the 17-18th century. In 40-50s of the 18th centuries on the river Urazovo there was a large village Kal'novka named so in the honour of the first resident, the peasant Kalina.

    In 1820 in large village Kal'novka the church in the honour of " Sacred Trinity " was constructed, and from the moment of its consecration the village Kal'novka was renamed into village Troitskoye. In the honour of consecration of the church in the village Troitskoye the religious holiday of " Sacred Trinity " became the annual Patron Saint's day. The main natural riches of the district is fertile chernozems which occupy 83,6 % of the arable land. There are insignificant stocks of clay, sand and chalk. There is also the source of mineral water which has industrial value.

    On the territory of the district the rivers Urazovo, Krasnaya, Gnilaya flow. The climate of the district is continental with hot dry summer, damp and sometimes very cold winter. The maximal temperature is +38,6 degrees C, minimal is -33 degrees C. Deposits are non-uniformal, the district belongs to the zone of risky agriculture.

    The fauna of the district is submitted mainly by steppe and some forest animals: wolf, fox, marten, lamb, wild pig. The fauna has no industrial value.

    Agriculture.  Ground fund of the district - 163,300 ha including: · farm land - 144,8 thousand ha from them arable land - 105,3 thousand ha.

    In the territory of the district the agricultural production is produced by 30 reformed agricultural firms and 97 farms. The share of agricultural productions of the district is about 10 % of the internal total product of the district.
