Districts | Novoaidarsky

Brief data Novoaidar district is located in the geographical centre of Luhansk region in the east of Ukraine, 80 km from the Russian border. The Novoaidar district has the agricultural direction of development, realizes the programs in economical and social sphere. To the district belongs 153 thousand ha of non-polluted grounds, including 36 thousand ha of fine woods with hunting area.

    The population is 28.5 thousand people, including agricultural population - 19,379, city - 9,077. National structure of the population of the district: Ukrainians - 13,797, Russian -13,917, others - 742.

    The basic spoken languages are Russian, and Ukrainian.

    Novoaidar is located on the river Aidar 60 km to the southeast from the regional centre, Luhansk. It has the railway sorting station "NovyAidar ". Through the settlement there passes a highway line - one of the basic motorways of the country - Rostov-Har'kov-Kiev, and the railway Luhansk - Moscow.

    Historical information

    For the first time Novoaidar as a cossack large village has appeared on the map of Ukraine in 1687 when on the river Aidarcossack natives from Don have built the military strengthening. In 1778 Novoaidarskaya the large village became a district city of the Azov province and has received modern name Aidar.

    Natural reserved places

    The Novoaidar district has seven objects of Natural Reserved Fund, among them is the nature sanctuary of nation-wide value "Aidarskaya terrace" and botanical nature sanctuary "Spevamvsky" which has unique vegetation.

    The pride of Novoajdarsk district is the Natural archaeological monument "Baraniy Lob". In 1993 the monument to victims of famine in 1933-1934 in Ukraine was restored.

    The favourable ecological situation in Novoaidar district is created with the absence of industrial production with harmful waste products. The favourable geographical position, good climate, natural treasures of Novoaidar, the colourful rivers Aidar with clean, transparent water, a lot of fish; sandy beaches, coniferous woods, magnificent places for fishing - all this promotes rest facilities, expansion of resort construction.
