Transport

Great attention in the city is given to measures of maintenance of industrial firms, population by services of the transport and communication. In the city functions widely organized automobile, railway, air and also pipeline transport. For cargo and passenger transport in the city there is: road service station, auto station, railway station, airport, and also the number of motor transportation firms.

    The system of the city transport: there exist trolley-bus, tram and bus routes. The general length of tram lines makes 92 km., trolley-bus 80,3 km. A bus network of urban routes includes more than 50 routes by a general length of 631 km. On the routes more than 450 buses for transportation of the passengers are used.

     Lugansk electric transport

     Lugansk electric transport is represented by tram and trolley-bus communication. The length of tram ways is more then 85,2km, trolley ways - 34,7 km.

    Rail road transport

    The railway transport is represented by Lugansk Branch of Donetsk Railway Road. The city has a direct railway communication with 15 areas of Ukraine (Donetsk, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kirovograd, Nikolayev, Odessa, Poltava, Kiev, Cherkassk, Zhitomir,Khmelnitskiy, Rovno, Lvov, Zaporozhye) and 6 areas of Russia:Belgorod, Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Moscow, Voronezh andwith - St.-Peterburg. 11 passenger long-range trains function.

    Suburban railway transport connects 14 regions, 11 diesel engines trains run in 18 directions.

    Automobile Transport

    The density of motor ways in the region is 209,7 km (269 km - in Ukraine). Across the territory of the region pass such transport motor highways as Volgograd - Kharkov, Debaltsevo - Rostov-on-Don (along the Moscow - Rostov-on-Don), Lugansk - Donetsk, Lugansk - Millerovo, Lugansk - Starobelsk - Valuiky.
